Led by Maestro Eduardo Marturet, the evening is inspired by the resilience, imagination and inner freedom that characterize Latin American culture. The program includes a deeply personal moment as Maestro Marturet performs on piano Memorias de Un Bravo Pueblo, his interpretation of the Venezuelan anthem—an emotional centerpiece that many describe as heartbreaking and beautiful. Adding a powerful human voice to the narrative, the concert features vocalists Lena Burke and Eduardo Aguirre (The Tenors), whose expressive interpretations bring lyric intimacy, emotional depth and storytelling to the symphonic experience.
At the heart of the program is electric bass virtuoso Rodner Padilla, whose concerto brings contemporary energy and bold expression to the symphonic stage, with a special highlight in the third movement featuring Venezuela’s celebrated C4 Trío. The evening also showcases acclaimed young pianist Juan Diego Molina and bridges tradition with renewal through Federico Vollmer’s Jarro Mocho (U.S. premiere, arranged by Marturet) and the world premiere of Dr. Santiago Bonora’s Rosa Prima—performed live by Bonora on theremin, and featuring a special performance by Athina Klioumi, transforming a living rose into sound through an unforgettable act of listening and poetic transformation. The concert closes with Arturo Márquez’s iconic Danzón No. 2, as WhispersOfTheFuture becomes more than a concert—a shared moment of reflection, beauty and hope.
