On April 23, Juan de Marcos & the Afro-Cuban All Stars bring their infectious Latin rhythms to the Arsht. The season concludes May 6 with 11-time Grammy Award winner Christian McBride and his acclaimed Big Band blending jazz, funk and more in a larger-than-life performance.

In the 1960s, Antonio Carlos “Tom” Jobim brought the bossa nova craze to the United States, and this infectious and sensuous sound soon became beloved throughout the world. We celebrate Jobim’s centennial and the jazz genres of Brazil—including bossa nova, samba and choro—with the Frost School of Music’s Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, Grammy Award-winning vocalist and pianist Eliane Elias, sensational clarinetist Anat Cohen and Brazilian jazz group Trio da Paz.

100 Years of Blues: Elvin Bishop & Charlie Musselwhite Duo featuring Bob Welsh
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Elvin Bishop and Grammy-winning harmonica master Charlie Musselwhite have over 100 years of professional musicianship between them. They are among the most famous bluesmen in the world and are both Blues Hall of Famers. Although they've known each other since the early 1960s, they did not make an album together until 2020's 100 Years of Blues, on which they trade licks and vocals on 12 rootsy, spirited songs. At their Jazz Roots concert, expect a night of lived-in, front porch-style music and conversation.

Juan de Marcos & the Afro-Cuban All Stars
Born from the legendary musical movement that sparked the Buena Vista Social Club, the Afro-Cuban All Stars are a powerhouse big band celebrating the full spectrum of Latin rhythm. Led by visionary founder Juan de Marcos González, this ever-evolving orchestra unites multigenerational maestros to bring the authentic, infectious pulse of Havana straight to the stage.

Christian McBride Big Band
Over the past three decades, 11-time Grammy Award winner Christian McBride has fronted ensembles that span and synthesize straight-ahead and experimental jazz, funk, soul, Latin, hip-hop and rhythm and blues. His celebrated groups include Inside Straight, Christian McBride Big Band, Ursa Major, Christian McBride’s New Jawn, The Christian McBride Trio and A Christian McBride Situation.
Several of those paths converged on Without Further Ado, Vol. 1, the Christian McBride Big Band's 2025 album, which won the Grammy Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble. For the first time, the 17-piece band shared the spotlight with a host of guest vocalists, including Sting, Samara Joy, Dianne Reeves, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Jeffrey Osborne and Antoinette Henry. The album includes covers of songs by The Police, Cole Porter, Carole King and others.
The bass-playing McBride and his band are likely to perform music from that recording and the group's previous three albums, which feature jazz standards and McBride originals, at this larger-than-life concert.
