Synopsis
Join us for the opening reception of Brushes With Cancer, featuring original works of art created through this transformative program.
Brushes With Cancer, a program of Twist Out Cancer, pairs artists with people whose lives have been touched by cancer, including previvors, survivors and caregivers. Together, they create powerful works of art inspired by each person’s unique story and journey.
Artists and their inspirations connect in person or virtually, building meaningful relationships through meetups and guidance from mentors, often clinicians, who help foster a supportive community throughout the creative process.
The program culminates in a celebratory art exhibition at the Arsht, bringing together program participants, families, artists and the Miami community. The evening will feature remarks from program participants, refreshments and a silent auction of original works created through the program.
Auction proceeds benefit future Brushes With Cancer programs. Contributions to the Arsht are fully tax-deductible, less the fair market value of goods and services received.
Purchased artwork will be available for pickup at the Arsht beginning October 26.
